German Minister of Food and Agriculture Christian Schmidt visited Zaatari refugee camp in northern Jordan on Monday after a meeting with his Jordanian counterpart. He talked to a refugee family about life at the camp and was shown around one of the camp's supermarkets. He said he was impressed by some of the programmes provided by charities at the camp and said Germany would continue to contribute to help feed and accommodate the estimated 80,000 mostly Syrian refugees living at the camp.
